Thanks for being a small part of something so big.

We are still waiting for Northern Ohio CF Chapter to release our final team totals. However, they have released these numbers:
Canton raised $80,733
Wooster raised $13,342
Holmes County raised $55,421
Cleveland raised $195,979
Lake County raised $71,063
Akron raised $121,120
Our team goal was $3,000 and I can tell you that we walked all over that number. I will pass on the numbers as soon as I hear about them! Thank you to everyone. Your donations, both large and small, make a huge difference for CF.

It takes a bathtub and a baseball team.....

One of the advertisement signs at the CF walk said, "You don't need to be a scientist to cure CF. Walking raises money. Money buys science. Scientists study the science...and science cures CF." Curing CF may be in Timmy's lifetime. It takes walking, and family, and friends, and donations, and philanthropy, a bathtub, and a baseball team. Timmy's Team grows each year, and this year we grew a fraternity and a baseball team....all in support to find a cure for a disease that I didn't ask to have...thank you.

We Brought A Baseball Team

We were fortunate to meet some wonderful people this weekend, many of whom were kids. Kings Family Baseball in Stow "had our back" as one t-shirt put it nicely. Below are some of their homemade shirts. Boys...your generosity and support are greatly appreciated.

Here is a picture of all of the people that turned out for the 2009 Great Strides walk at Hardesty Park. Will you join Mom and Dad and be a part of Timmy's Team? The walk is Sunday, May 16 at 1pm. Click on the link in the top right corner for all of the info. Here you can join the team or just sponsor a walker on Timmy's Team. Thanks for helping to make CF stand for CURE FOUND.

Pulling a Bathtub for CF

Ever seen a group of college kids move a bathtub across town? Neither had I, until today. Lambda Chi Alpha, a fraternity at the University of Akron, signed up to be a part of Timmy's Team. Timmy's Team is my team for the Great Strides walk in May which raises money for cystic fibrosis. Anyway, this fantastic group of college kids got up early and walked 4 miles, up and down hills, stopping traffic, and collecting money for CF. While the Bathtub Pull is their annual fundraiser (38 yrs!), they paired it with our fundraising efforts for Great Strides. We would love to see some of them even join us in May for Great Strides! Check out these pictures!!!

It's Been a Busy Month

March turned out to be very busy for us, Shannon clan. With birthday celebrations for Mom and the grandparents and then Spring Break....we were always moving. In the month of March: I showed the therapists that I can walk. I ate birthday icing. I thoroughly enjoyed ketchup at Winking Lizard. I grew out of all of my shirts.

Now that Spring has arrived.....look out world...here I come.
