The Final Product

This is the picture we put on the Christmas card. Merry Christmas everyone. My mom and dad take this time to celebrate the little blessings in life:
1. I will be 3 in a couple weeks. Can you believe it?
2. I have been broviac free for an entire year. Amen.
3. I have enjoyed a year of bubble baths.
4. I am working on getting my mom a new couch because I keep throwing up on it....and Dad just wishes that I'd throw up on the tv instead.
5. I have officially surpassed the 20 pound threshold.
6. I have successfully spent the night at Grandma's house.
7. I have increased the likelihood that I will sleep all night long.
8. I babble and babble and babble and my mom and dad understand my babbling.

All of the Do-overs

It's no easy task getting both of us to do what Mom says...at the same time.

Holiday Photo Persuasion

Here is big brother, Tyler. Poor kid. Each year he is forced to sit through a photography session with his uncooperative brother (me!) and every year this results in many candid shots of the two of us. Here's one...that is not showing up on the Christmas card. It looks like we are comparing dental work!

...and Daddy turned 30.

This past week hosted many events. There was the important Ohio State & Michigan football game. Grandma Lyla hosted a get-together at her house because Aunt April and the kids were in town. I got to see Grandpa Terry. We celebrated Aunt April's birthday. We had a small Thanksgiving with Grandma Lyla, Great-Grandma Rosie, Aunt DeDe, Tyler, Mom and Dad. ......oh, and don't forget....Daddy turned 30.

Acorns Among Us

Yesterday I enlisted the help of my mother and brother to gather some acorns from down the street. There is a huge tree on an empty lot on my block and if you stand under it, you are guaranteed to get hit on the head by falling acorns. Mom made sure that I didn't get an acorn concussion and Tyler tried to find "hatted-acorns." He insisted that he collect only the acorns with tops....soon to find out that once bagged, the tops just fell off anyway. Today, I took the acorns to school for all of my friends!

Stayin' Put.

Good news. Everyone has come to an agreement that I can stay at Calico school when I turn 3. (actually until 5!) This is a big deal because at the age of 3, I become property of the Cuyahoga Falls School District.....like I am a square on a Monopoly Board. CFalls has agreed with Mom and Dad that it's best to leave me with the people that already know me, my quirks, and my cans and cannots. Money has to change hands due to therapies, but that isn't my problem to figure out. My IFSP needs an MFE and then we write an IEP...welcome to the world of special education.

Changes, Changes, Changes

Since my recent visit to Children's, I have been on the up-n-up. Snot is gone. Since birth, I have been known to hear, "His lungs sound good, but his head is full of snot." Let me repeat, snot is gone. I can breathe, smell, and eat so much better. We are stepping down to eliminate the allergy medicines. I am eating like a champ...since the surgery I have gone from 16 lbs to 18 lbs 9 oz. Major milestone for me!

The Last Few Days of Summer

Friday night I spent some time at my very first football game. I was not my usual self, with all the noises, but we were able to stay til halftime before I was too tired.

Saturday, we were at Grandma Lyla's for THE Ohio State game. Grandma Rosie fed me a grape popsicle and turned my lips black!

Upper Body Update

Sorry about the delay with my update. Wednesday of last week was my surgery date. After 1 pulled tooth, 2 root canals, 8 capped teeth, adenoid removal, and tubes in ears later, I went home on Thursday. I've had good and bad days since. Throat hurts one day, teeth bother me the next. A low grade temp made me grouchy too. Monday has seemed to be my best day yet so here's hoping I can rejoin my friends at school on Tuesday.

Visit from Grandparents

Sunday, my Grandpa Rich and Grandma Pat came to visit. They wanted to come into town for Tyler's bday and to give me hugs & kisses before the "event" on Wednesday. The hit of the day was Tyler getting his own set of golf clubs and bag. Jack's garage is in for some beatings, I tell ya. We'll have to keep the cover on the hot tub too! This pic is Grandpa Rich tickling my toes and messing up my mop on top!

You know I'm Growing Up When....

I had my first sleepover at Grandma Lyla's house on Friday night. Despite Dad's nerves, Grandma would say that I did just fine. Cousin Joey was visiting for the week so I got to spend some time with him too. While I was at my sleepover, Mom and Dad went out for their 3rd anniversary.

Take A Number

It is official. Aug 19 I am going in for a full upper-body work up. This was originally the date that Dr. Mertes, my dentist, scheduled to fix my teeth. Then the ENT got involved, and she is going to remove my adenoids and put tubes in my ears. (Note: tonsils are remaining attached to my body.) Then Dr. Kraynack, from CF, got wind of the impending procedures. He wants to do a throat/air way culture since I'll be under. Hopefully, I will be able to breathe easier after this is all done.

ENT Update

My day today:
8-9am PT with Katie

9:15am Appt with Dr. Crow. He said, "See ya in 6 months!" Yippee!

9:30-10:30am Morning break and ate

10:45 Appt with ENT, Dr. Griffin. She said that I would probably keep the tonsils and that their size would not keep me from coughing up my crud. She ordered an Xray to look at the adenoids. We are also going to wait until my antibiotic course is over to see if the fluid in my ears goes away. So, in early August, we will return to talk about the adenoids and peek into the ears.

11:45 Lunch

12:15 Xray of my face

1-5pm Nap

Got Crud?

What is crud you might ask? It's the icky sticky germies that hang out in my body.
Friday was a 2 1/2yr well visit with the pediatrician. She says that I am growing at the rate of a 2yr old, which is slow. My body says, "Hey! I'm just two, what's the hurry to do all this growin' ????" We also discussed my monster-sized tonsils and my nose issues. The wallpaper paste thick boogies are gone thanks to the nasal spray, and now I sound too dry. ...and the fluid in my ears and how the adenoids are not letting the ears dry out. Got some meds from her...and a consult to an ENT. So, the newest member of the Timmy's People is going to be Dr. Janet Griffin, an ears, nose, and throat specialist at Childrens. My "people" want me to have my tonsils and adnoids out before winter so that my cough can actually be coughed up and my snot can go in the right directions. Geez.
Need to rest up tonight...Thursday is regular PT with Katie, a visit to Dr. Crow (haven't seen him in months!), and the ENT appt. Wish me luck. I'll keep you posted.

For the Fourth

With the big brother at Grandma and Grandpa's house for the week, things were pretty quiet around here. We didn't go to any fireworks...they just aren't my thing...plus they are past my bedtime. Except I didn't go to bed until after midnight last night. My parents were not too happy. During the afternoon of the fourth, we packed a picnic lunch and went to Waterworks Park. We hung out, fed the ducks and geese, and went for a stroller ride.

On Sunday, we went to Canton to do some shopping and so Mom and Dad could eat at Quaker Steak. Here is a picture of me next to a truck at their car show. Dad noticed the sign right away and thought that this had to be a photo moment.

I took my family to the zoo today.

Here's me & my dad.

Here's a hungry giraffe.

Here's a lazy primate.
Here's me, exhausted from all the zoo sites and sounds.

New Beginnings Are Coming

This is a picture of my big brother Tyler on his last day of first grade. He sailed through first and is anxiously awaiting the challanges of second grade. Me? I will soon begin my transition into the 2 yr old room at Calico. Yes, I am almost 2 1/2 already, but Teacher Tamie has been waiting for the right time to move me up. She does so with a heavy heart because she and I have such a special bond. So, I also anxiously await the new challenges ahead that Teacher Tamie will help me transition into this summer. After all, I can't stay little forever, right?

Holiday Weekend

Mom and I at Dad's softball game

So far, I have had a great holiday weekend. I am feeling better and school on Friday was a good time. I took a quick nap for Mom at 5pm, so we were able to go to Dad's softball game at 7pm. We stayed for almost a whole game and came home to bath, eat and crash out at 9:30pm. Saturday, Grandma Lyla came over in the morning so that Mom and Dad could work on chores. Dad spent the day burning brush, wiring the electric for the hot tub, and hanging flower boxes. Mom planted some vegetables and flowers, trimmed the bushes, and finished staining the front porch. The gas company also came by to read the meter. Simple, huh? That is until they discover that it is leaking gas!!! They shut the gas off, called the repair guy, and a couple hrs later everything was back up and running. The guy was nice enough to install the remote reader so that Mom doesn't have to let any more creepy people in the house to read the meter. During all of this excitement, grandma and I played and I got a nice, relaxing stroller ride.

Timmy's Team= $2,000 and The Community=$106,000

gathering for a quick photo before the walk

Kisha and her husband at the halfway point

many walkers lined the streets and stopped traffic for a great cause ....CF!

Our final totals won't be in for a couple weeks, but we met and surpassed our goal of $1,500. They have to combine the internet donations with all of the money brought to the walk and then post it on the website. The Hardesty Park walk collected $106,000! Wow! The weather was nice and it was a great day. Thank you to everyone that donated and thank you to those that walked with Mom and Dad.
